Peach Haven...pick for the day
>> Thursday, January 07, 2010
It wasn't a bad yield from the peach tree this year. I did my final picking today. The total harvest came to about 9kg. Not as good as 2008's of 17kg but I am not complaining. Last year the tree was still trying to recover from wet feet so the picking was very poor. Just a few fruit.
All the peaches will be preserved with a light sugar syrup and bottled up to be eaten during winter. I have managed to do a third of the fruits today. Those that smells really fragrant and feels a slightly soft are done first.

They did smell heavenly. We have just started eating our preserved peaches and it is not even winter yet ! Won't last long at this rate.
