Passion Fruit....looking good
>> Sunday, February 07, 2010
Last year after giving the passion fruit vines a good trim, it sulked and all I got was about 6 fruits.
It appeared to have got over being given a Number 2 haircut and this year it looks like I will be getting a good crop. Look at these green beauties. Not ready to eat yet. We will have to wait patiently for it to turn purply black and release its hold on the fruit.

I remembered you told me about your passion fruit vine a year or so ago. How's it doing - good ?
Wow , what a bumper crop. I love passion fruit too but not enough for me to really indulge.. manage to buy 5 at Xmas @ Cdn 1.99 each. only enough to add a nice touch to desserts and baking ...I miss feijoas too
Wow...that is expensive. At the vegie shop I saw they are now selling at $7/kg.
Now I dont even see them at all. Even one rambutan ( hairs already black) is $1.99.
Mine are starting to drop its fruits now. Picked about 30 today. So nice with the ice cream.
Just put one in the freezer to see how it turns out when it defrost. Would be much less work if I can freeze them whole rather than try and make passion fruit juice.
Did you buy the rambutan ? I haven't seen rambutan on sale here. Sometimes see lychee or longan but too expensive.
I'm sad to say that my plant didn't do well. I don't have enough continuous sun for them to do well. But I will admire yours from the other side of the pond!!
